Affiliate Marketing 101
Becoming a Super Affiliate
If you are entering into the online business, you will
eventually find your way into affiliate marketing. If not, you
are missing out on the adventure of a lifetime.
Research
quoted in Wikipedia.com estimates that in 2006,
affiliates worldwide earned
$6.5 billion in commissions from a
variety of sources in retail, personal finance, gambling,
travel, education, telecommunications, and
publishing.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
In simplistic terms, affiliate marketing is an agreement
between an online merchant such as Amazon.com and the affiliate
(you), in which you earn a commission for generating leads,
sales, and/or clicks for the merchant's website.
For example, there are insurance companies that will pay you
between $7 to $15 for every visitor that you send to their
website who completes a online insurance quote form. If you
owned a domain name such as www.ThinkCarInsurance.com, with the
right marketing you could be earning a sizable income. How much
money you earn ultimately depends on the affiliate products you
decide to market and your passion to succeed.
Another example is Amazon.com, once you sign up as an affiliate
for the online book giant, they provide all the tools you need
to instantly offer thousands of products. With each sale, you
receive a commission. There are numerous benefits of being an
affiliate marketer:
·
No inventory to keep
·
No upfront money to invest
·
You don't have to create products
·
You don’t have to service products
·
The company handles all follow-up
·
You don't have to maintain a customer support
·
You don’t have to create sales/marketing materials
·
Most companies assist you in marketing their
products
·
In many cases, you don't even need your own website to get
started
Affiliate marketing is probably the easiest way to start making
money online. If you already own a website, using affiliate
programs to subsidize your income may be a great
move!
Where Do I Find Affiliate Programs To Join?
There are literally thousands of companies that have affiliate
programs. They need you and me to increase their online
presence. One of the best ways to determine if a company has an
affiliate program is by searching some of the more reputable
affiliate networks such as: Commission Junction, ROIRocket,
Rocketprofit, Clickbank and Linkshare. They exist for the sole
purpose of bringing merchants and affiliates together in a
streamline fashion. To expedite your search, I've provided a
list of some of the top Affiliate Network
Programs.
How Can I Learn Affiliate Marketing?
It depends, if you want to become a mediocre affiliate
marketer, just earning a few commissions here and there like
most, then I suggest attempting to figure this business out on
your own. In doing so, you will waste valuable time; make
glaring mistakes and expend a lot of energy going nowhere fast.
Your undertaking will be reminiscent of the struggle of the
National Football League Buffalo Bills; every year doing the
playoffs, they sit at home wondering what they did
wrong.
If you want to become a
super affiliate, (don’t settle for being a normal
affiliate) the
best way is to read the Super Affiliate Handbook. This is the
literal success manual on affiliate marketing. It will
reduce your learning curve and get you making money online
in a short span of time. Go to the Super Affiliate
Handbook.
